We had needed the outlet that Alchemy would become for a while before it actually happened. I don’t think we, as artists, can always trace back to exactly WHEN something clicked or what set things the most in motion, but with this project – we’re lucky enough to say that we actually can! It first was humored when Debby and myself both had the idea of forming a “side project” that was free of any expectations or limitations imposed by being “LunahZon Photography”. We likened it to a band all recording together with the same members, but going a totally different direction without fear of alienating their current fanbase. We actually had the same idea on the same night, without any communication between each other before it was already a “we need to do this thing” to the individual. If that doesn’t sell you on “this is meant to be”, I don’t know what will! During one of our Minneapolis, MN trips, on the way over to Kathy’s apartment to hang out, we stopped by a little cafe that had the artworks of Sheila Petersen. Sheila’s works were EXACTLY what we needed that night to push us over the edge and say “why wait?”… we decided to ask Kathy to help us start that project that very night, which is how the previous post was born!
